APRIL 3, 2011 ----- 'THE MAGIC MILE' SPEED REPORT; GOODY'S FAST RELIEF 500 RACE RECAP ..... "Happy" Harvick wins back-to-back events in a race where folded fenders were the order of the day in Martinsville, Va...the shortest track on the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series circuit. Below are a few fast facts from the day:
* Kevin Harvick wins his second Sprint Cup race in a row, with a late race surge to take the win in Martinsville. This is his 16th career win.
* Harvick surged to 5th place in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Season standings.
* Dale Earnhardt Jr. finished in second place after nearly winning the race. Earnhardt hasn't won since Michigan in 2008, a total of 99 races.
* Kyle Busch's third-place finish catapulted him to the top of the Sprint Cup Standings.
* Polesitter Jamie McMurray stayed near the front all afternoon and finished a respectable eighth place.
* A frightening wreck between Kasey Kahne and Martin Truex Jr. was caused when Truex's no. 56 Toyota suffered a stuck throttle and slammed into the back of Kahne's no. 4 Toyota before hitting the wall head-on. Neither driver was injured, but damage to the safer barrier cause a red flag.
* A record-setting 30 lead changes among the 12 drivers who led at least one lap.
* Top-10 finishers; Kevin Harvick, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kyle Busch, Juan Pablo Montoya, Jeff Gordon, Matt Kenseth, Jamie McMurray, David Ragan, Clint Bowyer, and Mark Martin.
* The top-10 in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series point standings; Kyle Busch, Carl Edwards, Jimmie Johnson, Kurt Busch, Kevin Harvick, Ryan Newman, Juan Pablo Montoya, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Matt Kenseth, and Mark Martin.
