JULY 21, 2011 ..... Cooler Temps, Hot Racing Forecast for Legion Speedway this Sunday ..... With the heat wave forecasted to break on Saturday night, Sunday temperatures are expected to be in the high 70’s with no rain in sight, so conditions should be ideal for the inaugural Open Cockpit Super Sunday Series races this Sunday at Legion Speedway in Rumney, NH.
The Sprint Cars of New England will headline the event, with the Granite State Mini Sprints, North East Mini Sprints and East Coast Mini Sprints all locked and loaded for wheel to wheel action.
Master motor maker Rich Woods and Doug Norrie, who has wins this year at both Accord Speedway and Glen Ridge Motorsports Park, are expected to lead the East Coast Mini Sprint winged warriors.
Hot laps get underway at 2:00 pm and racing starts at 3:00. Legion Speedway is easy to find on Route 25 near the Rumney/Wentworth town line.
Admission: Adults 17-61 is only $8.00. Teens 12-16, Seniors 62+, and Active Duty Military w/ ID just $7.00. Kids 5-11 are $2.00 and Kids Under 5 Free. Pits are $25.00 (not $20 as erroneously reported elsewhere) and the minimum age is 14.
