SEPTEMBER 2, 2011 ..... Once, Twice... Four Times a Lady - Lacey Hanson at Sunday Super Series ..... When the second edition of the Open Cockpit Sunday Super Series blasts off this weekend at Legion Speedway in Rumney, NH, one driver will make history by competing in four open cockpit divisions at the same event.
After winning the first Open Cockpit Super Sunday Series feature in her 500cc Mini Sprint and competing in her Sprint Car and a 600cc Mini Sprint, Lacey Hanson of Orwell, VT, the Sprint Cars of New England’s only female driver and a three time Granite State Mini Sprint Champion, will compete in all four features. She'll drive her own 500cc Mini Sprint, a 600cc Mini Sprint owned by Matt Robie and a 750cc Mini Sprint owned by McKeon Brothers Racing Team before returning to her own SCoNE Sprint Car for the grand finale.
“I'm very excited to race in a bunch of classes. I had a blast last time and can't wait for this weekend to get here,” Hanson said.
The thrilling opening round of the three event series had strong car counts in all divisions, topped by 19 cars for the headlining Sprint Cars of New England. Joining Hanson in victory lane were Nick Berry (SCoNE), Terry Reil (600cc) and Doug Norrie (East Coast Mini Sprints).
The Sprint Cars of New England headline the event along with the Granite State Mini Sprints, the Northeast Mini Sprints and the East Coast Mini Sprints. The Sprint Cars of New England will be closing out their Triple Crown Weekend, following shows on Friday at Canaan Dirt Speedway and Saturday at Bear Ridge Speedway.
