WINCHESTER, NH: SEPTEMBER 13, 2010 ..... ALEXANDER, GRAY CROWNED MONADNOCK CHAMPIONS ..... New faces and old friends are still coming out to the high-banks of Monadnock Speedway as the Super Stocck Division would welcome #69 of Jacob Carey. Aric Blanchette and Adam Brooks returned to the Outlaw Pros and #84 of Joey Cipriano joined the Sportsmen Modified event. Mark Mclay would pull double duty with #51 Tour Type Modified for owner Warren Mordenti and also compete in the #15x Sportman Modified.
Young Guns were set to start the feature events. A lap two caution would fly for a spin by #7 Tyrell Dugre. The field would restart with JT Cloutier out front who would stretch out his lead and never look back to capture his 3rd win. The #50 of Cordell Colon, who has had not so good luck, would be able to shake that off tonight to finish a strong second. The #88 of Hillary Renaud and the #8 car would battle hard for the third spot. Renaud looked like a veteran as she went to the bottom and held her line in the last lap to take the podium in third.
Mini Stocks were next for 25 laps of some of the wildest racing. While the cars were lining up officials would show #9 of Rick Abbott the black flag due to smoke and the sounds of something coming apart. The caution flies on lap one when Eric Dejackome spins up onto the grass in turn three. The green flag had just waved for the restart when the #25 of Tim Griffith looses the right front tire while the #89 of Shawna Wallace spins in turn two. Both would return to join the others before the restart. On lap ten the #99 of Kim Rivet, who has been wanting to taste victory all season, would take the lead. Caution would wave again when #15 Chris McTaggart would land the car atop turn four and bail out of his car as fumes got to him. On the restart #99, #87 Beth Adams, #13 Joey Kendall, #16 Chris Davis, #45 of Dejackome were battling back. Rivet was challenged by Adams at every turn on the top, the bottom, and even in the middle but it would be victory to Rivet, Adams for second and Joey Kendall in the third spot. Chris Davis was announced as the unofficial 2010 champion.
Super Stocks came out for 25 laps of excitement and wheel to wheel runs. A caution on lap thirteen for a spin by #18 of Ken Springer. On restart #96 of Nancy Muni was in the top spot , followed by #71 of Dave Striebel, #11 Nick Boivin, #44 Brian Chapin, #18c of Chris Curtis and #33 of John Lavoie. On the restart the #96 would spin on the front stretch, apparently assisted by the #11 of Boivin who would be sent to the rear. Striebel would inherent the lead pursued by Chapin, but Chapin would snatch the lead away and never look back getting his first win in a long time. The door to door racing put on by Curtis and Lavoie would land Lavoie in second and Striebel in third. Tonight puts #37 of Bill Johnston as the unofficial division champion with one race left.
Outlaw Pros were up for 30 laps on the fastest 1/4 high-bank in the east for their final race of the season. The #37 of Fran "Jr" Colson would have the pole and would lead the pack to the green. Caution slowed things on lap seven when #57 of Steve Gauthier drove it too hard into turn three and collected his team mate #75 of Geoff Rollins. At the half way point on lap fifteen it was #15 of Brandon Ovitt in the lead with #66 of Mike Parks in second and #29 of Barry Gray in third. The challenges were made but Ovitt held them all off to secure the win and Parks would have to settle for second and Gray third. Gray would secure his spot at this year’s division champion.
Sportsmen Modifieds were on the track next for 30 laps of drama as the battle continued between Bill Kimball and Russ Hersey who were both vying for the division championship. The #47 of Paul Laffond would have the pole position, and the fans were treated to old time head to head Saturday night fever. No matter if you were a Kimball or Hersey fans, everyone was on the edge of their seats. The caution was waived when the #20 of Rich Fournier spins and collects #2 of Dave Knight. Fournier was towed off but after shaking the car down, Knight never left the track and rejoined the competition. With ten laps to go it is #1 of Nick Boivin, followed by Kimball then Hersey. Hersey tried the top and the bottom and at one point even connected with Kimball, but when all is said and done Kimball got past Boivin with Hersey in tow. That is how they would finish with Kimball, Hersey and Boivin for first, second, and third. Kimball is the unofficial division champion having one more race to go for 50 laps on September 25th finale
Tour Type Modifieds were up for their last 50 lap feature of the season. Even as hot laps began I am sure that fans and drivers were all on edge wondering how everything would settle in this dominant division. A lap one caution when #27 of Roy Seidell swings high in turn four and has a hard hit into the front stretch wall. On the restart some made it three wide, but for only a short period. On lap four the #27X of Matt Mead’s engine let go leaving fluid on the track resulting in a major crash in turn three involving last week’s winner #88 of Jim Boniface, #6x of Eric Leclair, 21vt of Josh King, #71 of Rob Williams, #87 of Kevin Ianarelli, #2 of Frank L'Etoile, #51 of Mark Mclay, and #24 of Todd Patnode. A red Flag condition remained on the track for more than 30 minutes. As track crews worked to free the wreckage, suddenly from the pile fans heard first #71 fire up and back out of the debris, then #88 of Boniface would emerge from behind the wreckers. Boniface's car now looked sand brown instead of the shiny black it usually is. Both would head to pits for extensive repairs. As fans watched the track clearing process they were also treated to what has always been tradition in our sport, and that was other crews helping each other get back on the track. Boniface and his crew would be assisted by #51 crew of Warren Mordenti and #88 Sportman Modified driver Russ Hersey. Rob Williams’ folks had him off and right back on the track. McClay, Ianarelli, Leclair, and King would be done for the night. The cars returning to the track were greeted by fans clapping and cheering. Williams was the first back, then #84 Brandee Tree, #24 of Patnode, then #2 of L'Etoile. As the speedy dry was cleared and cars were set to double up, the entrance ramp saw the #88 of Boniface with a few new parts rejoin the event. A lap twenty-two caution waved for a spin by the #20 of Rusty Ball. On lap thirty-seven #43 of Kirk Alexander would grab the lead but fans had a feeling after the other features maybe it was someone else’s turn for victory. The battle ensued and by lap forty-two #5J of Victor Johnson had jumped into the hot seat and took the lead. When the checkered fell it would be Johnson as the winner, followed by Todd Patnode for second, Alexander for third, Boniface in fourth and 71ME of Josh Cantara for fifth. Alexander would be crowned this year's champion of this division.
The speedway will take off Saturday, September 18th, in preparation of the 2010 Coca Cola Season Finale Event. The final race of the season will be held on Saturday, September 25th featuring a 50 Lap Sportsman Modified Challenge. The Sportsman Modified field will see new face as many competitors from Stafford Motor Speedway and Twin State Speedway will get into the ¼ mile special feature event. The Super Stocks and Mini Stocks will also compete in extra distance 35 lapper plus hot competition from the Young Guns, Enduros, Allison Legacy North, Pro 4 Modifieds and NE Race Trucks. The speedway will also hold the traditional end of the season School Bus Race, Spectator Race and Big Wheels Race. Racing start at 2pm.

WINCHESTER, NH: SEPTEMBER 6, 2010 ..... BONIFACE TAKES MOD CHECKERS AT MONADNOCK SPEEDWAY ..... Neither cool temperatures, light wind, nor the threat of a hurricane would stop a great night of hot racing at the northeast's fastest high bank. More new comers would appear in our mini stock division in the #60 of Jason Parker who really made his first start last week and the #25 of Tim Griffith. As heat races started, it seemed that the cooler temperatures had really changed the track and racers were working hard between practice and heats to change set ups and get their cars to stick. After qualifiying, teams would still be working hard to adapt the car to the track and some seemed to really hit the nail on the head.
The Young guns feature got off to a bumpy start and when the #50 of Cordell Colon gets hit he is unable to refire the engine and is pushed to the infield all while under caution prior to the green. It would be Hillary Renaud out to a commanding lead, and many would wonder if tonight would be her night as she has seen the podium several times but that first win has been so elusive. Second place would see two racers, Tyrell Dugre and Matt Parmenter fighting for position like veterans. Renuad would hold on and get her first win of the season and a victory lane douse in cold water, while Dugre was in for second and Parmenter for third.
Mini Stocks 25 lap feature had troubles getting started as anxious drivers would twist and turn before completing the first lap. In the case of #15 of Chris McTaggart, he would turn completely around on the back stretch, which collected the #89 of Shawna Wallace who hit him head on. Also involved were the #87 of Beth Adams and #16 of Chris Davis. Wallace and McTagarrt were done for the night, but Adams and Davis would continue after a trip to the pits. Officials would red flag the race for clean up for several minutes. Upon the restart the #25 of Tim Griffith got into the side of #43 of Adam Manley, who would get towed off with heavy damage. Upon the restart the #3 of Joey Rogers would be in the top spot. As the racing was able to stay green near half-way point Rogers was leading being pursued by the #13 of Joey Kendall, #99 of Kim Rivet , #45 of Eric Dejackome, #16 of Chris Davis, and then #87 of Beth Adams. Davis and Adams were driving like they were on fire to get back up front after being involved in the earlier caution. Rogers and Kendall would be racing side by side for several laps when Kendall, on lap 23, gets by and goes on to pick up his 6th win of the season, followed by Rogers and third to Kim Rivet.
Super Stocks were ready for 25 Laps of their feature event. This divsion has ran the last two weeks caution free,but not so tonight when on lap three #29 of Eddie Brehio III, #44 of Brian Chapin and #7 of Joe Bates all get together coming out of turn four. Brehio gets the worst of the deal having heavy damage to right front wheel along with right side body damage. Chapin made his trip to the pits and returned with a few less body parts. Bates seemed okay and never went off the track. Caution would fly again on lap six when the #03 of Andy Brooks Jr. stops on the front stretch with damage to his right front and is towed off. The restart of lap seven has #70 of Kevin Ouellette in front then #37 of Bill Johnston, #33 of John Lavoie, #96 of Nancy Munie, and #71 of Dave Striebel. On lap sixteen, coming down the back stretch Lavioe rides up on the wall, but never misses a beat in trying to get to Bill Johnston who is now the leader. A lap twenty caution on track when the #18 C of Chris Curtis gets turned by Kevin Ouellette. Johnston gets the win, Lavoie for second and #54 of Nick Gravel in third. Lavoie commeted during his interview that after hitting the wall the car seemed to get faster.
Tour Type modifieds were next for 50 ground pounding laps of competition. Kirk Alexander comes into tonight with the points lead followed by Todd Patanode in second and a tie between Jim Boniface and Victor Johnson for third place. The #84 of Brandee Tree would set the pace from the pole. There was a lap four caution on the speedway when the #2 of Frank L'Etoile seems to have a flat, and the #27 of Roy Stiedel spins. On the restart Tree gets sideways and the malay collects #76 of Shelly Perry, #21VT of Josh King with heavy front end damage, X6 of Eric Leclaire with left front damage, the #71 ME of Josh Cantara with left rear damage, and #71 of Rob Williams with heavy front damage. Johnson would assume the lead on the restart with challengers Boniface, Patanode and others wanting that spot. Once up to speed, Boniface would be commited to getting to the front. He and Johnson would be side by side, but in a classic Jim Boniface move he would get up on the outside and take the lead on lap seventeen. Boniface would bring the #24 of Todd Patanode with him, and the two of them would take a long lead over the other racers. Patanode would try several times to get by Boniface, but it seemed that the #88 car was riding a rail and Bonfiace would get the win. Patanode was in for second and #43 of Kirk Alexander was in for third.
The full size Enduros would round out the night with a 50 lap feature. They were able to run green to checkered without stopping. The #95 of Joe Ethier spun into the infield on lap twelve, but continued without missing a beat. The A7 of Barry Schonberg and the 16 of Duane Stonier would battle through most of the race, but Schonberg would hold on to take the win. Stonier would finish second followed by the 145 of Ed Laflond.
