LOUDON, NH: SEPTEMBER 2, 2010 ..... 38 SPECIAL TO ROCK OUT AT SYLVANIA 300 PRE-RACE ACTIVITIES ----- The American rock band 38 Special led by Don Barnes and Donnie Van Zant will kick start the SYLVAINA 300 with a concert during pre-race activities on September 19 beginning at 11:15 a.m.
The band was formed in 1975 and throughout the years has sold more than 15 million albums, but still plays a rigorous touring schedule with more than 100 shows per year. The thousands of audience members who attend 38 Special shows are still amazed at the power and strength of the band's performance ability.
"When we come out people are like, 'Whoa!' It's like a freight train rolling over them," said vocalist/guitarist Don Barnes on the bands live shows.
The band has also written songs for numerous movie soundtracks including; Super Troopers and have contributed to country legend Hank William's, Jr. Tribute disc in 1999. More recently, southern rock and country collide when 38 Special and Trace Adkins came together for an unforgettable live taping on CMT Crossroads in 2008. Other hits include; "Hold on Loosely," "Second Chance," and "Caught Up in You."
Joining the pre-race festivities and singing the National Anthem will be 11 year old N.Y. native Anthony Gargiula.

SYLVANIA presents the 20th Anniversary Celebration "Legends of Loudon" Lobster Bake
Come walk down memory lane during the annual SYLVANIA media night as they shine the spotlight on the "Legends of Loudon" and share stories of "The Magic Mile" from the last 20 years. Joining us in what promises to be an entertaining panel of "bench racing," is NASCAR driving legends Rusty Wallace and Mark Martin, along with NHMS owner Bruton Smith, NHIS founder Bob Bahre, NHMS General Manager Jerry Gappens and NASCAR on Fox host Dick Berggren. All proceeds to benefit the New Hampshire Chapter of Speedway Children's Charities. Event starts at 5:30pm. Tickets are $100 and can be purchased by calling (603) 513-5738. Hurry, seats are limited!

Driver Memorabilia Auction
Race fans will have a variety of items to choose from at the auction including NASCAR Sprint Cup series driver helmets, uniforms, sheet metal and other racing gear from many of their favorite drivers in NASCAR's top series. The Auction will take place on Saturday, Sept 18th, approximately 1 hour after the conclusion of the NASCAR Camping World Series Truck race. The Auction will be held at the SPEED Stage across from the infield tunnel in the display area. Admission is free.

"The Magic Mile" and country music station WOKQ are inviting all race fans to attend the popular "FanFest," a celebration dedicated to NASCAR fans, with food, music, fun, and much more on Thursday, September 16 beginning at 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
Headlining the fall "Fanfest" will be the always entertaining Trailer Choir, singing their catchy country tunes "Rockin the Beer Gut," "Rollin" Through the Sunshine" and "Off the Hillbilly Hook." The band has been featured on Country Music Television and will soon test their intelligence against fifth graders on the hit television show Are you Smarter Than a 5th Grader?
Fresh off their qualifying run, the pole sitters for the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East and the mighty Whelen Modified Tour will join "FanFest," with autograph sessions for their fans.
SYLVANIA will light up this year's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Hauler Parade beginning at 7:00 p.m. This unique opportunity allows fans to see the colorful rigs that bring their favorite drivers car to the track.
This jam-packed, family fun event is free to all fans. It even includes admission to all of Thursday's exciting events at the speedway including; qualifying and practice sessions for both the K&N Pro Series East New Hampshire 125 and the Whelen Modified Tour F.W. Webb 100.
